Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green State University freshman Jonathan Sigalet has been named Central Collegiate Hockey Association Rookie of the Week for Dec. 14, 2003.
Sigalet had a power-play goal and two assists in a 5-1 non-conference victory over Findlay on Friday, Dec. 12. It was a career-high in points for the Surrey, British Columbia native. The defenseman now leads all Falcon freshmen with 2-8--10 in 18 games and is tied for the team lead in assists. His 10 points tie him for second-most on the team and eight of his 10 points have come on the BGSU power play.
Sigalet's older brother, Jordan, was named CCHA Defensive Player of the Week just two weeks ago. Jonathan is the first CCHA Rookie of the Week for BGSU since Ryan Minnabarriet earned the honor in week six of the 2001-02 season.
