BGSU Women's Golf Signs Three

Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green State University women's golf coach Kurt Thomas announced the addition of three student-athletes to the Falcons' 2004-05 recruiting class. Kate Achter, Amanda Bader and Jessica McCann have signed letters-of-intent to attend BGSU.
Achter is a native of Oregon, Ohio and currently attends Oregon Clay High School. She plans on competing for the BGSU women's basketball team as well as for Thomas on the women's golf team. The Great Lakes League's Player of the Year in each of the last two seasons on the hardwood, she has helped the Eagles of coach Roger Achter (her father) to back-to-back GLL titles, with a combined 33-9 record during that time. Achter was a three-time, four-event GLL champion in track. At the 2003 state track and field meet, she finished sixth in the 100-meter hurdles, seventh in the 100-meter dash and eighth in the long jump.
Bader, a native of Lima, Ohio currently attends Lima Central Catholic High School. She was named Glass City Girls Golf Tour (GCGGT) Player of the Year. Bader was named First-Team Northwest Ohio, as well as Second-Team All-State. She also placed ninth in the 2003 state tournament.
McCann, a native of Mason, Ohio currently attends Mason High School. She helped lead her team to Districts, despite the program only being in its third year of existence. McCann ranked sixth in the city with a 40.6 scoring average as a junior, helping her to be named First-Team All-City, as well as First-Team All-FAVC.
