BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Sarah Agnew is the Bowling Green State University Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Agnew, a junior on the BGSU women's swimming team, won two events and finished second in another as the Brown and Orange closed the regular season.
Agnew, a native of Springboro, Ohio, won the 100 breaststroke and the 200 breaststroke in the Falcons' meet with Akron and Marshall. Agnew, a team co-captain, had a time of 1:07.62 in the former event and 2:24.25 in the latter.
In addition to the two event wins, Agnew turned in a second-place finish in the 200 IM, with a time of 2:15.31. As a team, the Falcons defeated Marshall, 208-90, and lost to Akron, 160-140.
Agnew, a middle childhood studies major, has 3.05 cumulative grade point average through the fall, 2002, semester.
The Falcons of head coach Keri Buff, as mentioned, have completed the regular season with an overall record of 6-10, and a MAC dual-meet mark of 1-7. BGSU will host the MAC Championships Feb. 27-March 1 at Cooper Pool.
