MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -
BGSU HEAD COACH CURT MILLER:
"It was just an embarrassing game both ways. That game has to set basketball back years. That has to be one of the worst Division I games of the year. It's two bad teams, and we were worse."
"Both teams had open shots, and for goodness sakes, both teams could not make a basket. I want, desperately, to credit the defense, but both teams could not make a shot."
"They (Central Michigan) played hard. That 9-0 run early in the game put us in a hole early. It panicked us a little bit, and put us on our heels from the beginning. We just never could find a rhythm in multiple zone offenses that we tried. One thing that normally bails us out is that, eventually, we'll start to make three's. Obviously, we did not do that."
"We're in the midst of losing six of (the last) seven, but, frankly, we've played teams that are a lot better than us. We played two straight months of basketball with only our Northern Illinois losses (coming) to teams under 90 in the RPI. So, for two months, we hadn't had a quote-unquote 'bad loss.' And, in a rebuilding program, we were very proud of that fact. But, we're on a little bit of a skid right now, we've lost some confidence. But, we've got to forget about it, because we've got our arch-rival coming up at home Saturday, and we've got to get back to the drawing board. We've got to figure out why we are not being productive against zone (defenses) and why we're not getting the open looks that we've gotten in the past."
