BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference women's basketball regular season has ended, and the pairings for the 2003 Kraft MAC Women's Basketball Tournament have been set. The Bowling Green State University Falcons have earned the 10th seed for the 13-team tourney, and will travel to Ypsilanti, Mich., to face seventh-seeded Eastern Michigan University in the first round on Saturday (March 8). The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. at EMU's Convocation Center.

The game will mark the teams' second meeting in less than a week, as the Falcons and Eagles faced each other to close the regular season Tuesday night (March 4) at BGSU's Anderson Arena. The Falcons won that battle, 70-69, giving both teams 12-15 overall records to end the regular season.
BGSU ended MAC play with a 5-11 conference record, while EMU went 9-7 in league action. The winner of Saturday's game will advance to Cleveland for the quarterfinal round of the Kraft MAC Tournament, and will face second-seeded Miami University. That game will be Wednesday, March 12, at 5:30 p.m. at Gund Arena.
Semifinal action will take place on Friday, March 14, with the championship game slated for Saturday, March 15.
Toledo, which shared the MAC regular season title as well as the West Division crown with a 12-4 record, has earned the No. 1 seed in the tournament. Miami, the East Division champion, and Ball State, which shared both the MAC regular-season and West titles with UT. The RedHawks are the No. 2 seed, while the Cardinals are the No. 3 seed.

FIRST ROUND Saturday, March 8 - campus sites Game 1 - #9 Marshall (11-16) at #8 Northern Illinois (12-15), 7:05 p.m. Game 2 - #12 Ohio (8-19) at #5 Kent State (15-12), 5 p.m. Game 3 - #13 Akron (2-25) at #4 Western Michigan (16-11), 2 p.m. Game 4 - #10 Bowling Green (12-15) at #7 Eastern Michigan (12-15), 7 p.m. Game 5 - #11 Central Michigan (11-16) at #6 Buffalo (17-10), 7 p.m.The semifinals and the championship game of the womens tournament will be televised on the following Fox Sports Net regional affiliates: FSN Ohio, Detroit, Midwest, Pittsburgh, Chicago and Empire Sports. The first semifinal contest will be broadcast live on all six regional networks. Fox Sports Net Ohio will carry the second semifinal live while the others will air the game on a tape-delayed basis.
