Track Places Seventh At All-Ohio Championships

Columbus, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University track squad placed seventh at the All-Ohio Championships this weekend in Columbus, Ohio, with a team total 57 points. The Falcons were led by junior Amber Culp and sophomore Melissa Krueger.
The Falcons had very impressive showings in the distance events for the weekend. On Friday Amber Culp established a regional qualifying time of 10:56.62 in the 3,000 meters, capturing first place and 10 points for the Falcons. In the 10,000 meter Kristen Spicer finished fifth with a time of 39:00.15 and Beth Scheall finished eighth with a time of 41:41.79.
On Saturday, the Brown & Orange continued their solid performances in the distance events with a third place finish from sophomore Melissa Krueger in the 1500 meters. Krueger had a time of 4:39.12.
In the throw and jump events BG was led be seniors Brooke Allen and Nicole Carter. Allen placed fourth in the javelin throw with a mark of 123-10 and Carter finished the triple jump with a mark of 36-04 to finish fifth in the event.
Junior Alicia Taylor placed third in the 110-meters with a time of 13:87, and helped her 4 x 100 team finish fifth with a time of 48:13.
Sophomore Amber Walker was also a member of the 4 x 100, who also placed fourth in the 400-meters with a time of 57.82.
On the slate next for the Falcons is a trip to Des Moines, Iowa on April 23 where they will compete in the Drake Relays.
