Hobson, Montgomery Sign With BGSU Men's Basketball Team

Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green State University men's basketball coach Dan Dakich has announced the signing of Chris Hobson and Austin Montgomery to national letters of intent to attend BGSU and play basketball for the Falcons.
Chris Hobson, 6-4, G, Blue Island, Ill. (Eisenhower HS)
Will graduate this spring from Eisenhower High School which is located in the Chicago suburb of Blue Island... set a school record for points scored with 1,948... a finalist for Illinois' Mr. Basketball... a third team-All-State pick... named Player of the Year by the Star Newspapers (suburban Chicagoland) ... also named All-Area by the Chicago Sun-Times... averaged 21.6 ppg., 6.3 rebs., three assists and three steals per game and shot 89% from the line as a senior... scored a school-record 47 points against Rich East High School as a sophomore... averaged 20 points as a junior and 19 points as a sophomore... a three-time All-Area and All-Conference choice... also named team MVP each season... finished third in the IHSA state dunk contest earlier this year.
Austin Montgomery, 6-5, G, Indianapolis (Perry Meridian HS)
Will graduate this spring from Perry Meridian High School in Indianapolis... scored 1,481 points in his career... was an Indiana All-Star as a junior... named the Indianapolis Star South Player of the Year... averaged 20.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 2.3 steals as a senior.... led his high school to a sectional title... two-time team MVP... a two-time All-Marion County first-team selection by both the Indianapolis Star and the Marion County Coaches Association... played in the Reebok Indiana North/South All-Star Game.
"We're very excited that Chris and Austin are going to be a part of our basketball program," said BGSU men's basketball coach Dan Dakich. "We think they are great additions not only as players, but as students as well."
Hobson and Montogomery join Reggie Harwell, a 6-5 guard/forward from Cleveland Shaw High School, Matt Lefeld, a 6-11 center from Coldwater, and Isaac Rosefelt, a 6-8 forward from St. Thomas Academy in St. Paul Minnesota in this year's recruiting class. Harwell (HM All-Ohio Division I, 15.0 ppg.), Lefeld (third-team All-Ohio Division III, 15.6 ppg.) and Rosefelt (first-team All-Minnesota, 22 ppg., 11 reb.), signed with BGSU during the early signing period in November.
