Falcons Compete In Drake Relays

Des Moines, Iowa - While most of the Bowling Green State University track squad is competing in the Hillsdale Relays, several of the top Falcon finishers throughout the year traveled to Des Moines, Iowa to compete in the 2003 Drake Relays. 15,875 were in attendance at Drake Stadium, which was the 37th consecutive sell-out for the event.
On the Falcon side of things, Amber Culp placed seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:57.26, her second-best time on the season.
Kerri McClung placed 18th in the shot put with a mark of 42-11.00.
The quartet of Valerie Holland, Marquita McGowan, Alicia Taylor and Amber Walker placed fourth in the 4 x 200 with a time of 1:39.87, to finish seventh in the event. Taylor also qualified for the 100-meter hurdle finals on Saturday with a time of 13.94 seconds.
The Falcons will continue action Saturday morning.
