Falcons Seventh After Three Rounds at MAC Championship

Sugar Grove, Ill. - The Bowling Green State University men's golf team is seventh after three rounds of the 2003 Mid-American Conference Championship, being held at Rich Harvest Farms Golf Course in Sugar Grove, Ill. The Falcons have a team score of 927 (314, 309, 304). The second and third rounds of the tournament were played on Saturday.
BGSU senior Andy Miller leads the team with a three-round score of 226, good enough for a tie for 16th place. He carded a 77 in the first round, 74 in the second round, and 75 in the third round. His highest finish ever at the MAC Championship is a tie for 15th in 2001.
Three strokes back of Miller is freshman Bud Ziglar, who has carded a 229 through three rounds (75, 79, 75), good enough for a tie for 22nd place. Freshman Chris Leake is tied for 31st place (234), redshirt-sophomore Craig Pickerel is tied for 42nd place (239) and late addition Adam Cordes, a freshman, is 48th (247).
Miami leads the tournament with a team score of 883, followed by Kent State (886), Toledo (889), Ball State (897), Akron (918), and Eastern Michigan (920). Behind the Falcons are Ohio (930), host Northern Illinois (939), and Marshall (944).
The MAC Championship will conclude Saturday, May 3, with the fourth and final round.
