Falcons Drop Season Opener, 3-1

Boise, Idaho - The Bowling Green State University volleyball squad dropped the season opener, 3-1, to the Broncos of Boise State on Friday night. Junior Taylor Twite, who registered 14 kills to go along with a .364 hitting percentage, led BGSU. The 14 kills are a new career-high for Twite.
The Falcons opened the match with a 26-30 first set loss, but battled back in set number two (30-24) to square the match, 1-1. Boise captured the final two sets 30-26 and 30-17 to close out the match.
Senior Susie Norris registered a double-double with 11 kills and 14 digs. With those 11 kills, Norris is now only 42 kills away from 1,000 for her career. Norris now ranks fourth all-time in career digs with 1,143, and is 201 shy of the school record, currently held by Holi Costein.
Senior Nadia Bedicky and junior Melissa Mohr led the Falcons with four block-assists apiece. Mohr also registered one solo block.
The Falcons will conclude the Double Tree Bronco Invitational on Saturday with matches versus Portland at 12:30 p.m. and Utah Valley State at 7:00 p.m.
