CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference office has authorized the release of the MAC Academic Honor Roll for the 2002-03 academic year, and 14 members of the Bowling Green State University women's indoor track and field team were among those honored. The BGSU athletic department had a total of 122 student-athletes selected.
To be eligible, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher. True freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible, as a student-athlete must have attended the institution for an entire year to qualify for the award.
For the Falcon indoor track team, the lengthy list of honorees includes seniors Amy Henry, Katrina Kerns, Christy Paine, Beth Scheall, Kristin Spicer and Mary Willems, juniors Ellen Alkire, Amber Culp, Leighann Kramer, Kerri McClung, Alicia Taylor and Jennifer Ziegler and sophomores Elise Gould and Melissa Krueger. (Note: each player's year of eligibility reflects the 2002-03 academic year).
BGSU's list of honorees follows. The cumulative GPA figures for each student-athlete are through the fall, 2002, semester, as the nominations were made before the conclusion of the spring, 2003, semester.
