BGSU Leads Butler Invitational After Day One

Indianapolis, Ind. - Bowling Green leads 11 teams after a rain-shortened first day of the Butler Invitational in Indianapolis, Ind. The Falcons have a team score of 323 after one round of action. The second round scheduled for today was cancelled due to poor weather.
Falcon senior Julie Wise is tied for the tournament lead with a score of 78. She is followed closely by fellow senior Jenny Schnipke who is tied for second with a score of 79. Other Falcons helping the cause are sophomore Amanda Schroeder (81), freshman Kari Liggett (85) and senior Kari Evans (90).
"We started off in the rain and the wind picked up in the afternoon," said BGSU coach Kurt Thomas. "It was a great effort by our team today."
The tournament concludes on Tuesday with one round beginning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. EST.
