POSSIBLE TOURNAMENT SEEDING AT STAKE
While the Falcons and Thudering Herd reach only the midway point the 2004 MAC season, the lone meeting between the two teams this season could go a long way in deciding seeding for the 2004 MAC Championship Tournament. If the tournament were to start today, BGSU and Marshall would be tied for the sixth seed. The top three teams (including both division winners) earn byes in the first round, while seeds four through eight would host a first round game on March 8.
THE SERIES WITH THE THUNDERING HERD
This is likely the last trip for Marshall to Anderson Arena as they prepare to leave the MAC for Conference USA and the teams are no longer in the same division. BGSU holds a 28-23 advantage and have won the last four meetings in Bowling Green. The Falcons captured an 83-60 win in 2002 in BG, while the Herd won last year's matchup, 56-54, in Huntington.
