BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University women's soccer team will face Kent State University in the quarterfinal round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament. That match will be held Tuesday (Nov. 2) at 2:00 p.m. at the KSU Soccer Field.
The Falcons' seed and opponent was learned after the conclusion of Friday's Miami-Eastern Michigan match. Miami downed EMU, 2-1, in that contest, which was the final match of the MAC regular-season schedule.
BGSU will be the eighth seed for the eight-team tournament, while KSU is the tourney's top seed. Last season, the Falcons also were the eighth seed, but upset #1 Eastern Michigan in the opening round and advanced all the way to the championship match.
The top-four seeds each will host a quarterfinal match, with the four survivors of Tuesday's contests converging upon the home of the highest remaining seeds for the semifinal and championship rounds. The semifinals will be held Friday (Nov. 5), with the championship scheduled for two days later.
This season's other quarterfinal matches include seventh-seeded EMU heading to #2 Ohio, sixth-seeded Miami taking on third-seeded Central Michigan and #5 Ball State meeting fourth-seeded Western Michigan.
The BGSU-KSU winner will face the victor of the BSU-WMU match.
