Recap |  Final Stats |  Notes
Bowling Green, Ohio -
BGSU Head Coach Gregg Brandon
"Our defense buckled down when they had to. We held them to under 100 yards rushing, which is outstanding because they were second in the conference in rushing."
"Mitch Crossley made a big play right at the start of the second half. It really gave us a lot of momentum when he intercepted that bubble (screen)."
Speaking about Omar Jacobs...
"At times he missed some throws, but other times he made some great throws."
Speaking about EMU's Matt Bohnet...
"He slipped out of there on us a bit, but we made some plays on him that I think were big plays."
"Our guys are still doing a great job catching the football. When you have a veteran group of receivers that's what you expect them to do."
"We got six wins now, we are bowl eligible. That's our fourth winning season in a row, and that's a heck of an effort by this team and program. We have come a long way here in four years."
"I saw Mitch (Crossley) being disruptive tonight. I saw him coming off the edge, collapsing the pocket, forcing the quarterback to get out of there."
Speaking about Crossley's Touchdown...
"Mitch just ran right in between the throw and the guy, and made the play. It was a great play."
Speaking about the 3:0 Takeaway/Giveaway ratio...
"I think that's one of the main reasons why we are winning, we are taking care of the football."
"For us to continue to win we have to run the football effectively."
"Teddy Piepkow is just beat up, and just keeps battling. He is a true warrior."
Defensive End Mitchell Crossley on his touchdown...
"It was a slant call and coach put me in a great position to make a play and I read the quarterback and he threw straight to me, and I just took it to the crib."
On his sack that caused a fumble and a turnover...
"It was very important. They were on us, it was like a three-series play. They were running on us and passing on us. Someone had to make a play and my number was called and I just had to go out there and make the play."
Quarterback Omar Jacobs
On Charles Sharon and his receivers...
"Charles Sharon is a great player...they try to do a lot of things. They double Cole (Magner), double Chuck (Sharon). They double a lot, trying to take away our strongest players...but we are a complete offense. We don't have any weak links. They do things to stop certain people and that's when people like Chuck get free and let one of our best players get the ball and try let him make a play.
On the offense as a whole...
"We're peaking, the last couple of games we've put up a lot of numbers. We've been successful at executing the plays and cutting down the penalties. We're doing a lot of good things right now."
On the BG defense...
"The defense stepped up big. The offense wasn't really scoring in the red zone and they kind of picked up our slack. Usually when we're in the red zone we score points and just to go out there and have the defense step it up and make a play, that's team ball."
On the home field advantage...
"It's a great feeling coming home and being in front of everyone and hear everyone screaming your name. That 12th man, the crowd get's loud and makes people call timeouts. That helps in the long run with they don't have timeouts left."
Wide Receiver Charles Sharon
On Omar Jacobs...
"He's really playing well, he's hard on himself. The receivers are doing what they have to do to boost Omar's confidence."
On being the go-to-guy...
"I don't see myself as being the go to guy. We have four, five, even six good receivers that can get the job done. I just try to do my part."
EMU Coach Jeff Genyk
On not capitalizing on drives in the red-zone...
"Their very good at that, their red-zone defense, I'll give them a lot of credit for that. Tim Beckman, their defensive coordinator, does an outstanding job. We needed to execute better, and that's what the message to the team is, execution. We had more dropped balls than we had in a while. You can't beat this level of team with that type of execution and that's where it all comes back to is execution."
"We were in position to make some plays and cut that lead. And even though we were down 34-13 I still felt that once we made it 34-20, here we are driving, we have all the momentum, we can punch it in with four minutes left and who knows."
On BGSU quarterback Omar Jacobs...
"He's as advertised. He's a very good quarterback, very accurate. I still think our defense played pretty well. We gave up 34 points as a defense and that's pretty darn good. I think we're making a lot of progress in that regard."
