First On the Board Means Wins for Falcons
The Falcons improved to 6-0 when scoring first this season with its 7-3 victory at Wayne State on Nov. 18.
Fantastic Start for Falcons
BGSU continues to have its best start in eight years with its 6-3-1 overall record. It marks the fastest that BGSU has reached six wins since the 1996-97 team began the year with a 6-0 record. BGSU is above .500 in the CCHA for the first time since October of 1999. That season the Falcons started the year 3-1-0 in their first four league contests.
BGSU Puts Up Numbers In Back-to-Back Games
The seven goals scored by BGSU on Nov. 18 were the most since a 9-4 victory over Miami on Nov. 9, 2001. The last time the Falcons scored 13 goals over a two-game span was Jan. 5-6 at Princeton (8-3 and 5-0 victories).
Power Play League's Best, Third Nationally
BGSU's six PPGs vs. Wayne State last week gave them 11 extra-man tallies over its last three games and improved their power-play percentage for the season to 25.7 percent (19-74). That percentage leads the CCHA and is third in the nation. Of the 19 PPGs scored in 74 chances, eight different Falcons have contributed, including six from Matsumoto, four from Meloche, and three from Whitmore.
