Coach Dan Dakich
On UIC coming off a near-upset of #3 Georgia Tech
"That's a tough spot. They had a packed house at home against the #3 team in the country. Now, tonight they had to come in here in a storm and play us."
"I thought we played hard and like we practiced. It's not good with 20 turnovers but when you play defense, you can overcome those things."
"I thought we got good play from John Floyd, really good actually. And also from Scott Vandermeer."
On defending Cedrick Banks
"We put Steve on him first and challenged him. He's the conference player of the year in his league that is a lot like ours and when we blocked his shot I knew it wouldn't intimidate him, but it set the tone...it was a big play. Last night at walk-through Steve had a determination and he did a great job tonight. When the guy is doing the job, (Wright on Banks) everyone else has to do so as well."
"I really like this team. They hustle, they like each other, the play for each other."
"It is always feels good to win but as soon as I go downstairs, I'll watch the tape, find some things that weren't good and get ready for Bradley."
Changes from the game with DePaul...
"We talked about sustaining intensity for 40 minutes. Maintain our focus and stick to the gameplan."
On playing his first Falcon home game...
"It feels great. I had a lot of family and friends here tonight and it feels good."
on defending Banks...
"We wanted to stop him from getting good shots. He comes off screens faster than anybody I've ever guarded."
"We won the game and that is all that matters."
