ROAD WARRIORS
As mentioned above, Tuesday's game vs. Youngstown State marks a rare home appearance for the Falcons ... after the YSU contest, BGSU will not play at Anderson Arena again for exactly one month (Dec. 30 vs. Bucknell) ... in fact, when the Falcons leave for Providence, R.I., on Friday morning, it will mark the start of a 17-day stretch in which the team will spend nine nights on the road ... BGSU will play in tournaments at Brown and New Mexico on back-to-back weekends, then will spend the following weekend in Western Pennsylvania to take on St. Francis (Dec. 18) and Robert Morris (Dec. 20).
YOU THE MANN
The Falcons suffered a 68-63 loss at Duquesne, but the setback was not due to lack of effort on the part of sophomore Ali Mann ... Mann, held to four points in the first half, exploded for 19 of the Falcons' 31 second-half points ... Mann made six of her 10 second-half shots from the field, including her only three-point try, and also hit on 6-of-8 free-throw tries in the final 20 minutes of the game.

THE SERIES
The Falcons and Youngstown State are tied, 10-10, in the all-time series between the teams ... BGSU holds a 6-5 advantage in home games vs. the Penguins ... the Falcons won seven consecutive meetings from 1991-98, but since that time, YSU has captured three of the last five games, including the last two ... last season, the host Penguins downed BG by a 79-67 count (Nov. 22, 2003) ... exactly one year earlier, in the last meeting at Anderson, YSU broke a last-minute tie for a 70-64 win (Nov. 22, 2002).
BGSU/YOUNGSTOWN STATE FACTS
The Falcons and Penguins are meeting for the 12th consecutive season ... Tuesday's game marks the first time since the 1998-99 season that BGSU's season opener was not against the Penguins ... BG had opened the season against YSU for five consecutive years and six times in seven seasons prior to 2004-05.

LAST TIME OUT

Mann was the only BG player in double digits in the game ... the first half featured five ties and five lead changes ... BG led, 23-15, after a Liz Honegger layup with 8:20 left in the half ... but, the Dukes erased the Falcons' largest lead of the game, scoring the next 11 points, and DU took a 34-32 lead into the half ... a Mann jumper tied the score with 30 seconds gone in the second half, but an Aiga Bautre jumper gave the hosts the lead for good with 19 minutes remaining ... DU led by 10 points on several occasions, but a 10-2 BG run put the Falcons within 52-50 with 8:37 remaining ... BGSU would be within two points on no fewer than five more occasions, but never could get the tying or go-ahead basket ... the Falcons shot 30.9 percent from the field and went 5-for-22 (22.7%) from three-point land ... the hosts shot 39.3% from the floor and held a 52-38 rebounding advantage ... Loui Hall had 20 points to lead DU, while both Nicole Sinclair and Maria Stankevich had double-doubles.
MANN SCORES 20 AGAIN
Sophomore Ali Mann had a game-high 23 points at Duquesne ... she has now scored 20 or more points seven times in her career, the most of any current Falcon ... Mann has hit double digits in scoring 20 times in 34 career games.
HONEGGER HITS DOUBLE DIGITS IN REBOUNDS
Sophomore Liz Honegger grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds in the Duquesne contest ... the double-digit rebounding game was her first of the season and the ninth of her career, the most among active Falcons (classmate Ali Mann has eight).
TAKING CARE OF THE BALL
The Falcons' total of eight turnovers at Duquesne was BG's lowest in over a decade, since committing only seven in a win over Toledo on Jan. 13, 1993 ... believe it or not, that BG team had only seven turnovers in back-to-back games, having done the same thing in a win at Eastern Michigan on Jan. 9, 1993.
BLOCKING IT OUT
Liz Honegger, just a sophomore, is only eight blocked shots away from moving into the top-five on that BGSU career list ... Honegger has 54 blocks in her Falcon tenure ... Michelle Terry (1994-97) holds down fifth place on the career list with 62 blocked shots.
175 GAMES AND COUNTING
The Falcons have made at least one three-point field goal in every game during the past six-plus years ... in fact, BGSU has drained a triple in each of the last 175 games, a school record by far ... the last time the Falcons were held without a trey was on March 1, 1998 ... the previous school record had been 29-straight games on two occasions -- most recently, in the 1993-94 (last five games) and 1994-95 (first 24 games) seasons.
