Falcons to Face Ohio State in NCAA First Round

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The pairings have been announced for the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championships, and the Bowling Green State University Falcons will be staying in-state for the team's first-round match. The Falcons will travel to Columbus to face The Ohio State University in a first-round match Friday (Nov. 12). Starting time has been set for 7:00 p.m. at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium, according to the official OSU athletics web site, www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com.
In the first match of the day at OSU, the University of Detroit Mercy will take on the University of Michigan, with kickoff scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Friday. The BGSU-OSU winner will meet the UDM-UM victor in Sunday's (Nov. 14) second round, with that match scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
The Falcons (10-11-2) earned the Mid-American Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by winning the league tournament over the weekend. BGSU, seeded eighth for the tournament, downed top-seeded Kent State in the quarterfinal round, then headed to Athens, Ohio, and topped #4 seed Western Michigan, 4-1, in Friday's (Nov. 5) semifinals. BG downed #3 seed Central Michigan, 2-0, Sunday (Nov. 7) to capture the title.

Detroit (13-7-1) earned an automatic bid by winning the Horizon League Tournament, while Michigan (11-8-2) received an at-large berth after a third-place finish in the Big Ten regular season.
