20th Anniversary Celebration of 1984 Championship Team This Weekend

Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green State University and the city of Bowling Green are set to begin the 20th Anniversary celebration of the 1984 NCAA Division I Hockey National Championship this weekend (Feb. 12-14).
Today is being declared "National Championship Hockey Day in Bowing Green" by BG Mayor John Quinn. Tonight a banquet honoring the team will be held in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union at 7 p.m. Players and staff from that team, as well as current team members and coaches, will be in attendance.
For both Friday's and Saturday's games there is a buy-one-get-one free general admission ticket offer for Huntington Bank customers when you show your debit card. Also, at 6 p.m. each night the 1984 Championship team will hold an autograph session in the south end of the BGSU Ice Arena. The team will be honored at center ice during the first intermission of Friday's contest.
Friday night, the first 1,000 fans will receive limited edition Falcon Hockey trading cards courtesy of the Sentinel-Tribune. Saturday night the first 2,000 fans will receive a 20th Anniversary Puck courtesy of Mr. Spots.
The Falcons host Lake Superior State each night with faceoffs scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
