Falcons Place Eighth At MAC Championships

YPSILANTI, Michigan - After earning only three points on day one and sitting in tenth place, the Bowling Green State University track and field team added 42 points on Saturday to place eighth at the 2004 MAC Indoor Championships. Central Michigan captured the title with 103 points, followed by Eastern Michigan (92.5) and Kent State (90.5).
Capturing the spotlight was senior Alicia Taylor, who took home the 60-meter hurdle crown with a personal-best of 8.50, nearly, breaking the meet record of 8.43.
Taylor continued to rack up the points for BGSU with a third-place finish in the 60-meter dash, establishing a new personal-best time of 7.60. Valerie Holland placed fourth with a time of 7.63.
The Falcons claimed third and fourth place in the 200-meters with times of 25.20 and 25.28 by Holland and Amber Walker.
The final Falcon to capture points on day two was freshman Erica Wilson. She placed fifth in the high jump with a career-best mark of 1.70 meters. She also placed ninth in the long jump with a distance of 5.58 meters.
The Falcons return to action on March 20, when they open the outdoor season in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to compete in the Alabama Relays. The meet is set to begin at 9:00 a.m.
