Popovich Places 12th At Regionals

BATON ROUGE, La. - Bowling Green State University senior Melissa Popovich placed 12th at the Central Championship Regionals Friday night in Baton Rouge, La., with an all-around score of 39.00. This is the ninth time this season she has scored 39-plus in the all-around event.
Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Year as well as the MAC Senior Gymnast of the Year registered scores of 9.75 (vault), 9.75 (bars), 9.675 (beam) and 9.825 (floor).
The Medina, Ohio native will not receive an automatic berth to the National Championships after failing to place in the top two of the five individual all-around performers (she placed fourth).
