Prior to the start of BGSU's 34-game regular-season schedule, the team will host its annual Falcon Face-Off on Saturday, Oct. 9, at 4 p.m., in the BGSU Ice Arena. Of BGSU's 15 regular-season home games, eight will be against NCAA participants from a year ago, including Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, and Notre Dame. Michigan travels to Bowling Green on Saturday, Dec. 11, and Friday, March 4, and the Spartans come to town on Saturday, Dec. 4, and Friday, Feb. 25. Notre Dame will play the Falcons on Thursday, Nov. 4, at 7:05 p.m. in what is the first non-exhibition midweek game at the BGSU Ice Arena in many years. The Irish also come to town on Friday, Jan. 28.
BGSU will also be hosting an afternoon contest on Saturday, Oct. 30, when it welcomes Lake Superior. The Falcons and Lakers will play a 2:35 p.m. contest prior to the BGSU football team taking on Eastern Michigan at 6 p.m.
"The first half of the season, we are excited to have some variety in our schedule," said BGSU Coach Scott Paluch. "It's an exciting schedule. We go through a very competitive CCHA schedule with eight of our games against Michigan State and Michigan."
Over Christmas break, Dec. 29-30, the Falcons travel to the Dartmouth Tournament in Hanover, New Hampshire. The tournament will feature BGSU, Dartmouth, Providence and Vermont.
