Bowling Green, Ohio - With as deep a group as they have had, the 2004 Bowling Green State University football team looks to a veteran offensive line to help lead the way as it looks to compete for a second straight MAC West Division title. Last year, this unit helped BGSU finish third in the nation in total offense (496.7) and 21st overall in rushing (196.3). "This group has come along very well", said Offensive Coordinator Greg Studrawa. "It gives us as solid a front five as we have had during my four years here." The anchor of the group is first team All-MAC center Scott Mruczkowski who has started all 37 games during his first three seasons with the Falcons. Mruczkowski (6-4, 319) is a candidate for the Lombardi and Rimington Awards. Also looking to contribute if needed at center is redshirt sophomore John Lanning (6-4, 294). "Scott's our leader and he's the glue that holds everything together," added Studrawa. On the left side, senior tackle Andrew Hart (6-5, 297) returns after starting five games last season and will be backed up initially by redshirt freshman Drew Nystrom (6-5, 304). Redshirt freshman guard Kory Lichtensteiger (6-3, 300) will crack the starting lineup and is spelled by redshirt freshman Patrick Watson (6-5, 293) and fifth-year senior Andy Wenstrup (6-5, 285). Junior Rob Warren (6-6, 296) has made 14 career starts at right tackle and will be backed up by junior Jonathan Culp (6-6, 288) who has made three career starts. At right guard, fifth-year senior Andy Grubb (6-4, 294) returns after starting nine games last year. Sophomore Derrick Markray (6-5, 341) also looks to contribute.
