BOWLING GREEN, Ohio- - The 2005-06 Falcon Swimming and Diving team previewed what can be a very successful team competition season. At the annual Tom Stubbs Relays, which features team diving and relay events, BGSU took the top honors in seven of the twelve events.
The Falcon divers were in control of the 3-meter board taking first and second place with a high score of 462.58. On the 1-meter, the Falcons B squad split the top awards placing second behind Akron's A squad.
In the pool, the Orange and Brown made a statement winning the 200 medley, 300 fly, 300 back, both rounds in the 400 medley and the 500 free. While earning three second place finishes, the lowest the swimmers would place was third in the 300 breast.
BGSU competed against Eastern Michigan, the University of Akron and Youngstown State University.
The Falcons will return to the pool Oct. 28, when the University of Toledo makes the short trip to Cooper Pool. Events will begin at 5:00 p.m.
