CLEVELAND, Ohio (BGSUFalcons.com) - Bowling Green State University junior Lindsay Carter has been named the Mid-American Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday morning (Oct. 24). Carter earns the honor for the first time this season and the second time in her Falcon career.
Carter becomes only the third player in BG history to earn league P-O-W honors more than once. Kristy Coppes was a three-time player-of-the-week honoree, while Jill Conover earned two such honors in her career.
Carter, a native of Hilliard, Ohio (Darby HS), directly contributed to three of the Falcons' four goals as BG posted two road wins to move into first place in the MAC standings over the weekend. The Falcons have increased the current winning streak to a school-record seven matches.

On Sunday (Oct. 23), Carter and the Falcons posted another 2-1 road win, this time over Eastern Michigan. With less than five minutes remaining in the second half, Carter made a run into the penalty area and was fouled. That resulted in a BG penalty kick, which senior Julie Trundle converted for what proved to be the winning goal.
On the season, Carter has four goals and nine points.
The Falcons of head coach Andy Richards, 12-6-0 overall and 8-2-0 in MAC play, close the regular season with Friday's (Oct. 28) match at Toledo, beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Scott Park. A BGSU win would clinch an outright conference title, while a tie would clinch no worse than a regular-season co-championship. BGSU will host a MAC Tournament Quarterfinal match at Cochrane Field on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
