Gothke Named MAC East Player of the Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Junior Chrissy Gothke was named MAC Player of the Week for Nov. 6-13. The junior captain is the third different Falcon to receive the award this season.
Gothke showed her unique versatility last week, playing both setter and outside hitter while leading Bowling Green to a 2-1 record and a first-round home match in the 2005 MAC Volleyball Tournament. During the stretch, Gothke averaged 3.12 kills, 1.14 blocks, 12.57 assists and 5.00 digs per game. Her season averages are 2.05 kills, 0.70 blocks, 9.76 assists, and 2.52 digs per contest.
Gothke hit .500 with 10 kills and four service aces in a sweep of non-conference opponent Oakland University on Nov. 8, also accounting for 14.5 points in the win over the Golden Grizzlies.
Against Kent State, Gothke stepped it up defensively, tallying six blocks and 10 digs in the sweep of the Golden Flashes. Gothke also tallied 43 assists in the effort.
Gothke fell just one dig shy of her eighth triple double of the season against #20 Ohio with 10 kills, 23 assists and nine digs.
