FALCONS RETURN HOME
The BGSU men's basketball team will return home from a month-long, four-game road trip to face Notre Dame (Ohio) College. BGSU is playing its first home game since November 30 (against Oakland). Notre Dame was a late addition to the schedule after BGSU had to postpone a game at IPFW which was scheduled December 3. BGSU also had a game scheduled that day at Bradley.
THE OTHER FALCONS
Notre Dame, an NAIA program from Cleveland, also has the nickname "Falcons". They are 7-9 this season and also played Oakland, where they fell, 102-74 on the road.
FALCONS GET DEFENSIVE IN ALABAMA
In games against Florida State and Troy, BGSU held the two opponents to 61.5 points on 36.8% shooting from the field and just 21.3% marksmanship from three-point range. BGSU also committed just 27 turnovers in the two games
FALCONS GET ROAD WIN AT TROY
BGSU held Troy 30.7 points below its scoring average and handed the Trojans their first home loss of the season, 60-52, on December 19. Junior John Floyd had 13 points and his three-pointer with 1:08 remaining clinched the win for BGSU. Freshman Dusan Radivojevic had nine points and three assists off the bench as Falcon reserves outscored the Trojan bench, 18-7. Junior Matt Lefeld had 10 points, his third straight game in double figures, a career-best. In the last three games, Lefeld is averaging 12.3 points and is shooting 66.7% from the field (12/180 and 86.7% from the line (13/15).
COORS CLASSIC RECORDS
The Falcons set a Coors Classic Record by making 12 three-pointers and attempting 31 long distance calls against the Seminoles. Junior Martin Samarco was named Game MVP after scoring a classic record 27 points. He also established event marks for three-point field goals made (7) and attempted (12). He had 19 of his points in the first half.
FALCON QUICK HITS
Troy (27.8%) was the second team that BGSU held below 30 percent shooting (Western Carolina, 28.9%) this season... against the Trojans, BGSU shot more free throws (23 to 20) than its opponent for the first time this season... nine players saw 12 minutes or more of action in that game... BGSU made a season-high 12 three-pointers and committed a season-low 13 turnovers against Florida State... senior guard Steven Wright returned to the lineup against UALR and made a career-high four three-point field goals against FSU... he leads the team in three-point field goal shooting (41.2%) and has averaged 8.7 points since returning to the lineup... he suffered a broken foot in the preseason and missed the first six games of the season... he averaged 11.1 points and 3.1 assists and led the Falcons in steals with 37 a year ago... junior Martin Samarco is the top newcomer in the MAC as far as scoring averaging 18.6 points, which ranks third in the league... he also leads the league in three-pointers made per game at 3.38... he also leads the team in rebounding at 5.4 per game... freshman Erik Marschall is the top scoring freshman in the MAC averaging 9.7 points... he is among the top shooters in the league making 53.1% of his shots... he had eight rebounds against Troy... senior Mawel Soler is the top shooter in the MAC making 69.7% of his shots... he is averaging 6.8 points and 5.0 rebounds and is shooting 72.7% from the floor during his two seasons with the Falcons... he also is tied for second on the team with 16 assists... junior Matt Lefeld is arguably the most improved player in the MAC... last year he scored just 14 points all season, but equaled that in his first game this year against Western Carolina... he had a career-high 17-point effort against UALR and is averaging 9.3 points and 4.8 rebounds... junior John Floyd has averaged 9.7 points and has averaged 4.0 assists... junior guard Patrick Phillips made his first career start against Bradley... he also contributed a key basket and rebound against Troy... sophomore guard Perrick Robinson had one of his better offensive nights when he contributed eight points and three assists against Bradley... he is second on the team with 16 assists... freshman Dusan Radivojevic saw his first action of the season against Oakland and has averaged 5.7 points in the last three games... Dusan missed the first four games of the season due to a foot injury... freshman Darryl Clements had seven points against Oakland... freshman Brian Moten joined the team against Florida State and has contributed four points in two games...freshman Brian Guerin has missed the last five games due to mono... he returned to practice this week.

The Falcons will now host Central Michigan at 6 p.m., Wednesday, January 4. The game was originally scheduled for 7 p.m.
