The following are notes from Thursday night's 81-50 BGSU victory over Notre Dame (Ohio).
This was the first meeting between BGSU and Notre Dame (Ohio). The game was a late addition to the 2005-06 schedule and replaced IPFW after a scheduling conflict forced a postponement of a December 3 game in Ft. Wayne. BGSU will play at IPFW next year.
BGSU went on a 16-3 run at the end of the first half to break open the game.
The Falcons shot 45% from three-point range (9/20), its second highest output of the season (53.8% vs. Urbana).
The Falcons have won back-to-back games for the first time this season.
BGSU is 26-2 since the 2000-01 season when holding an opponent below 59 points.
BGSU is now 17-1 over the last three plus seasons when scoring 80 points or more.
BGSU also has won 27 of its last 29 non-conference games at home.
BGSU posted four players in double figures for the second time this season (Oakland).
The Falcons also outrebounded NDC 42-28 giving them their widest advantage on the boards in a game this season.
Junior Matt Lefeld had 11 points and tied his career-high with nine rebounds, seven on the offensive end. He has scored in double-figures in a career-best four straight games. He also had nine rebounds against Virginia Tech.
Senior Steven Wright had a season-high 14 points. He also added three assists and two steals.
Junior Martin Samarco led the Falcons with 17 points. He has led the Falcons in scoring seven times this season. He also tied his career-high with eight rebounds (Radford).
Freshman Erik Marschall, the top scoring freshman in the MAC, had 12 points, six rebounds and two blocked shots. It was the sixth time in 10 games this season he has scored in double figures.
BGSU got 27 points from its non-starters.
Senior Mawel Soler provided a huge lift with seven points and seven rebounds. He also had two assists.
Junior Patrick Phillips had a career-high seven points. He made all three of his field goal attempts and had two boards and a steal.
Freshman Brian Moten had a season-high seven points and had an assist and steal in 12 minutes.
Freshmen Dusan Radivojevic and Darryl Clements each knocked down a three-pointer.
Sophomore Perrick Robinson had five assists and three steals.
Freshman Brian Guerin (mono) played for the first time since November 18.
BGSU made 11 of 12 free throws (91.7%) and 5 of 8 three-pointers (62.5%) in the second half.
