What was Coach Dakich talking to you about in terms of motivation and this contest?
"Defense for us, is really important. Every night we have to go out and guard people so he just said to stick with the defense and really start guarding and good things will happen."
"We've got to have an inside-out game. We've got some good shooters and we've got guys, Matt (Lefeld) can go inside, Mawel (Soler) can go inside, we've got guys that can go in their to free our shooters up."
Is fouling less something that you've been working on?
"That's something that I've been working on, coach has been working with me. Just to not commit stupid fouls and keeping hands off."
Head Coach Dan Dakich
"This is a game that I knew coming in wasn't going to be a comfortable game for us, simply because of the way that they play and the way they've played other Division I teams."
"We don't have enough experience, size, or whatever it is to come out and dominate folks. I thought Notre Dame played really hard but I take my hat off to our guys..."
"We've developed a really bad habit of shooting a lot of 3's, which is fine maybe when you're playing Florida State, but not when you're playing a team that you are much bigger than. ...The guy who changed the game was Dusan (Radivojevic). Simply by being on top of the zone and throwing the ball into Matt. Now, once he threw the ball into Matt, they started fouling and got us into the bonus. Then, they constricted their zone and now we were able to hit a couple of 3's because of the zone at least having to converge on a post presence."
"In the second half I thought Erik Marschall was really good all over the backboard."
"The only thing that doesn't concern me (about our team)is our effort. I think our effort has been really good and particularly here since we've gotten everybody somewhat healthy. Our effort in practice is great. As I told them, we're going to have bad nights, good nights and everything in between probably with this team. But if a consist effort and a consistent desire to improve is there, we're eventually going to get it to where we're a difficult team to play against. But we're not there and that is a process that we have to continue to work at and work at everyday."
