Recap | Final Stats | Notes
BGSU Coach Dan Dakich
"I thought that both teams either got really locked in defensively or really can't shoot. In the second half, I don't know which one, I felt like our team in the second half got better shots, way better shots than we got in the first half and we shoot 50 percent and we're down all day in the first half and in the second half we make eight baskets. I felt like, and I'm sure those guys probably do to, they got good shots too."
"I thought it was a hard-fought game. Both teams battled, I love my team and how hard they battle. I think the turning point in the game really didn't come until the last minute or so when I think Reimold had a good look on a three that he has made in the past that didn't go in. But I thought it was unfortunate for us with the start that we had...turnovers in the first half but I guess you can probably credit their defense. Second half we settled down a little bit, played a little bit of defense, got back into the game and turned it into a pretty good basketball game."
UT Coach Stan Joplin
"I was very happy with our effort defensively. I think that was probably the big difference. I think we did a nice job defensively, we made them work for everything and our offense wasn't pretty but I thought our effort defensively was pretty good. They made a little bit of a run and we withstood their run and I think we kind of made them work for everything. I thought the first time, we gave them entirely too many open shots. We gave them too many easy baskets, didn't contain the ball and I thought tonight we did a much better job."
"Our defense was pretty decent but our offense wasn't clicking. Like I tell the players, anytime you play good defense you always give yourself a chance. We expected them to make a run..."
Why are there so many teams jumbled at the top of the standings?
"I think the coaching is good. I think there is parity. I think, again homecourt advantage is huge, a lot of teams are winning at home and struggling on the road. I think that the league has always kind of been like this where you have a lot of good teams. If you look around college basketball it is pretty evident how everything is like that. ...teams that are usually winning are winning the close games so you have to give them a lot of credit. But if don't come out ready to play and continue to compete for 40 minutes, you're going to come out on the short-side."
"Chasing Reimold, who is constant motion, he is a lot like John Havlicek or some of those guys."
