Falcons Finish 10th At MAC Indoor Championships

MOUNT PLEASANT, Michigan - The Bowling Green State University track and field team climbed three spots on day two of the 2005 MAC Indoor Championships, en route to a 10th place finish (19 points) in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Akron claimed the title with 97 points, followed by Eastern Michigan (95.5) and Kent State (88.5).
Senior Kerri McClung recorded eight points for the Brown and Orange with a second place finish in the shot put. She had a toss of 49-02.50.
Sophomores Erica Wilson and Veronica Vance had solid performances in the jumps for the Falcons. Wilson finished fifth in the high jump with a season-best jump of 5-08. Vance finished sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 38-01.50.
Fellow sophomores Nicole Standback and Jessica White recorded three points for BGSU. Standback finished seventh in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.71. White placed eighth in the 60-meters with a 7.73.
The final Falcon to record points was senior Melissa Krueger. She had a one-mile time of 5:02.19, for an eighth place finish.
BGSU will take the next few weeks off before heading to Cincinnati, Ohio, for the Cincinnati Opener, as the Falcons will begin the outdoor season on March 19.
