The Falcons won for the fifth straight time at home against Ohio.
The Falcons won their third game this season when trailing at halftime. The Bobcats led 28-26 at halftime. OU had won six of their last seven games.
The Falcons broke open the game with a 25-6 run in the first 6:42 of the second half. The Falcons shot 60% from the floor in the second half and made its first four three-point field goal attempts of the half.
The Falcons improved to 10-0 this season when scoring 70 points or more.
For the game, BGSU shot 51% and improved to 32-3 since the 2000-01 season when making more than half of its field goal attempts. The Falcons lead the MAC shooting 50.1% from the field.
BGSU made 19 of 20 free throws with sophomore John Floyd making a BGSU season-high nine in nine attempts. The Falcons lead the MAC making 76.5% of its free throw attempts. Floyd has made 90.2% of his charity tosses this season (46 of 51). He had 16 points and eight assists.
The Falcons tied their season-high with 39 rebounds (UIC). Junior Mawel Soler led the way with a season-high eight caroms. Soler also added nine rebounds.
Freshman Scott Vandermeer tied a school-record in his first collegiate start with seven blocked shots. Skip Howard has seven for the Falcons in 1973 against Toledo. Vandermeer finished with a six points and six rebounds. He also had six points against Bluffton. As a team, BGSU had a season-high nine blocked shots.
Senior Josh Almanson had 16 points and tied his career-best effort by making all seven field goal attempts, including two treys. He also made seven straight field goals against Eastern Michigan. He also continues to push closer to the 1,000 point mark in his career and has scored 973 points in four seasons at BGSU.
Senior John Reimold also had 16 points and added six rebounds. His 1,171 career points now ranks 24th on the school's all-time scoring list.
Junior Steven Wright had nine points, four rebounds and three assists. Senior Cory Eyink also added a three-pointer.
Sophomore Austin Montgomery had a huge three-pointer in the first half. It was his first three-pointer since December 8 against Bluffton.
BGSU held Ohio freshman Leon Williams scoreless. He came into the game averaging 11.4 points and 8.1 rebounds. He had 13 points in the first meeting with BGSU.
