Falcons Finish Third At All-Ohio Championships

KENT, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team finished third at the All-Ohio Championships Saturday evening in Kent, Ohio. The host school, Kent State captured the crown with a team score of 195.375, while Ohio State (194.400) finished second and BGSU (192.975) ended in third.
Freshman Jayme Stambaugh captured the vault crown with a score of 9.825. Junior Jessica Guyer (9.725) and senior Breanne Metzger (9.700) rounded out the top three for the Brown and Orange.
The bars also saw the Falcons place three BGSU performers in the top eight. Senior Kari Elste (9.775) finished fifth, while junior Jessica Bradley (9.750) and freshman standout Jessica Ewart (9.725) placed seventh and eighth, respectively.
Guyer led the Falcons on the balance beam with a 9.775, placing fifth. Senior Kristin DiPietro finished tenth with a 9.725 and Ewart placed 12th with a 9.700.
In the final event Guyer once again led the Falcons on the floor exercise, posting a 9.800.
Up next for BGSU are the MAC Championships on March 25 at 6:00 p.m. in DeKalb, Illinois.
