Falcons Place Fourth At MAC Championships

DEKALB, Ill. - The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team, with a team score of 192.875, finished fourth at the 2005 MAC Championships Friday evening in DeKalb, Illinois. Kent State won the meet with 195.000 points, while Central Michigan (194.650) and the host Huskies (193.050) rounded out the top three.
BGSU began the meet on the vault, where junior Jessica Guyer led the group wit a 9.725. She finished fifth in the event.
The bars saw a pair of underclassmen lead the way. Freshman Jessica Ewart was the top Falcon, posting a score of 9.750, while sophomore Sakura Tomita was right behind with a 9.725.
The Brown and Orange placed three Falcons in the top ten on the balance beam. Guyer and sophomore Bethany Kenel finished in a tie for fifth with a 9.825. Senior Breanne Metzger finished ninth with a 9.800.
BGSU had a trio of Falcons finishing in a tie for tenth-place on the floor exercise. Metzger, Erin Coudriet and Kristin DiPietro all posted marks of 9.725.
Metzger also finished fourth in the all-around with a 38.725.
