BGSU's Alan Brech Breaking Batters
So Alan Brech (Harrison, Ohio) is keeping opposing hitters on their toes. The lefty has a team-low 2.11 ERA in 42.2 innings overall, ranking him third-best in the MAC. His minuscule 0.67 ERA in 27.0 innings of league play is tops in the conference. He was named MAC West Co-Pitcher of the Week this week after striking out a career-high 10 in a 5-1 victory at Northern Illinois on April 15. He also was two outs away from a no-hitter on April 1 in a 2-0 victory vs. Central Michigan. BGSU's 11-3 start this season was its best since 1996 when the Falcons began 12-3. The 20 wins registered by the Falcons by Sunday, April 10, was the fastest to 20 victories since 2001 (April 10) for the Falcons.
Nolan Reimold Added to Wallace Watch List
JR Nolan Reimold (Greenville, Pa.) was added this week to the Brooks Wallace Award Watch List, given out to the top collegiate baseball player by the College Baseball Foundation. The award is voted on by a national panel of preeminent coaches, sports information directors, former winners and beat media who most closely follow the sport. Screening Committee members will evaluate the candidates and will continue their review throughout the entire baseball season. Voting for the three finalists and the Wallace Award winner will be conducted by confidential balloting, with totals tabulated by the J.W.Anderson & Associates accounting firm in Lubbock, TX.
Reimold ranks nationally in three categories as of April 18, including home runs per game (T-5th, 0.38 pg), slugging pct. (T-15th, .743 pct.), and walks per game (29th, 0.88 pg). He has been named MAC West Player of the Week twice and was named National Hitter of the Week on March 29.
Also Nationally Ranked...

Dandy Andy Going Out With a Bang
SR Tri-Captain Andy Hudak (Toledo, Ohio) is saving his best for last, apparently. Hudak leads the Falcons AND the Mid-American Conference with his .381 batting avg. in 34 games.
