Columbus, Ohio - The 2005 Robert Kepler Intercollegiate, hosted by Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio, has been cancelled due to inclement weather. BGSU was scheduled to compete in the tournament this weekend, ending the regular-season portion of its 2005 schedule.
It marks the first time 35 years that weather has forced the cancellation of the Buckeyes' home spring tournament. Persistent rain Friday evening and Saturday morning made the Ohio State Scarlet Golf Course unplayable for first and second competition scheduled for Saturday. Winter storm warnings forecasted for Saturday evening forced the cancellation of the entire tournament.
BGSU will next compete in the 2005 Men's Mid-American Conference Championships in two weeks, May 5-7, at the Medallion Club in Westerville, Ohio. The tournament will be hosted by the University of Akron.
