Day One Shortened by Rain at MAC Softball Tournament

AKRON, Ohio - The first day of action at the Mid-American Conference Softball Tournament was halted early due to rain, and the second-day schedule has been adjusted as a result. The Bowling Green State University's game vs. Eastern Michigan University, originally scheduled for 11:00 p.m., has been moved to a 12:30 p.m. start.
The sixth-seeded Falcons lost to #3 Miami, 2-0, Wednesday morning, while #7 EMU fell to #2 Central Michigan by a 4-1 count in the day's second game. Western Michigan, seeded fourth, downed #5 Buffalo by a 4-0 score. In the final game scheduled for Wednesday, top-seeded Marshall held a 1-0 lead over eighth-seeded Kent State when the game was stopped just prior to the start of the second inning. That game will be resumed at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, followed by the four regularly-scheduled games.

Game 5 - Bowling Green vs. Eastern Michigan, 12:30 p.m.
Game 6 - Buffalo vs. Marshall/Kent State loser, 3:00 p.m.
Game 7 - Miami vs. Central Michigan, 5:30 p.m.
Game 8 - Western Michigan vs. Marshall/Kent State winner, 8:00 p.m.
