Bowling Green State University's Nolan Reimold has been named the 2005 Mid-American Conference Player of the Year, as voted on by the 13 league coaches on Tuesday night. The 6-4, 205-pound junior outfielder becomes just the second Falcon ever to win the POY award, duplicating Kelly Hunt's feat in 2002.
Joining Reimold on the All-MAC First Team are teammates Andy Hudak (Toledo, Ohio) at first base and Alan Brech (Harrison, Ohio) at starting pitcher.
Reimold, a native of Greenville, Pa., leads the nation with a .791 slugging pct., is fourth nationally in home runs per game (.42 pg.), and is 17th nationally with 1.25 RBIs per game. His 20 home runs are four off the national leader and are two away from the BGSU record of 22 set by Hunt in 2002.
