Bowling Green, Ohio - Three Bowling Green State University baseball student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-MAC Team for 2005, as voted on by the league's faculty athletic representatives. Included among the 16 players recognized by the MAC were Burke Badenhop (Perrysburg, Ohio), Andy Hudak (Toledo, Ohio), and Jeff Warnock (Cincinnati, Ohio).
BGSU was joined by Kent State as the only schools with three representatives on the team. Badenhop and Warnock are repeat honorees.
Besides BGSU's Badenhop, Hudak and Warnock, others named to the team are Akron's Darek Stanfield, Ball State's Kyle Dygert and Marc Franz, Buffalo's John Boom, Central Michigan's J.T. Jones and Kurtis Wells, Eastern Michigan's Ben Jones, Kent State's Kurt Eichorn, Jon Miller and Joe Tucker, Miami's Brian Canada, and Western Michigan's Mark Rasmussen and Adam Rosales.
Six of the honorees garnered Academic First-Team All-District honors last month, with BGSU's Badenhop earning first-team Academic All-America laurels on May 31. Named a second-team Academic All-America selection were BSU's Dygert and CMU's Wells, while BGSU's Hudak copped third-team honors.
In addition, BSU's Dygert, BGSU's Hudak, Miami's Canada and WMU's Rosales garnered first-team all-conference honors a week ago, while UA's Stanfield, KSU's Tucker and Eichorn were selected to the second team.
