BOSTON, Mass. - Former Bowling Green State University student-athlete Jordan Sigalet (Surrey, B.C.) inked a one-year contract with the Boston Bruins Wednesday (Aug. 10). The Hobey Baker finalist was taken with the 209th pick of the NHL Entry Draft back in 2001.
"I am just happy to get everything settled so I can get into camp and show what I can do," said Sigalet. "With my brother getting drafted by the same team, hopefully we can play together again sometime."

The 6'1", 180 lb. native of Surrey, British Columbia was the first-ever Bowling Green goaltender to be named a captain of the team when he attained that honor in 2004-05 and he was named a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award as the nation's top college hockey player last season as well. The netminder was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in March, 2004 and made the public announcement in December, 2004. He serves as an ambassador for MS Lifelines, which raises awareness about the disease. The Bruins drafted his brother Jonathan, a defenseman at Bowling Green, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
"It is a really good moment for Jordan," said head coach Scott Paluch. "He has worked so hard for this opportunity. We are very confident that he will go on to have a great professional career."
