BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University soccer fans will get their first chance to see the 2005 teams, free of charge, as the Falcon men and women each will host a scrimmage over the next few days.
The BGSU men's team of second-year head coach Fred Thompson will host Oakland University in Saturday (Aug. 20) action, with the scrimmage beginning at 4:00 p.m. on the men's practice field. This is the first of two home scrimmages for the Falcon men.
The women's team, guided by sixth-year coach Andy Richards, will host Tiffin University in a Tuesday (Aug. 23) scrimmage, also scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start. That scrimmage will be played on the women's practice field.
The men's practice field is located directly east of the Cochrane Field complex, while the women's practice field is southeast of Cochrane (just south of the men's practice field). Both practice fields are west of Doyt Perry Stadium.
Both BGSU teams will be in action on Friday, Aug. 26, in a doubleheader on the Cochrane pitch. On that day, the Falcon men will host the University of Michigan in an exhibition match which begins at 2:30 p.m. The BG women will open the 2005 regular season at 5:00 p.m. that day, hosting Oakland.
