Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green State University sophomore left guard Kory Lichtensteiger was named second-team preseason All-American by CBSSportsline.com. The 6-3, 305 lb., native of Van Wert joins quarterback Omar Jacobs (2nd team, The Sporting News) as Falcons who have earned this type of preseason accolades in 2005.
Lichtensteiger started all 12 games last season and earned second-team All-MAC honors as a freshman. He also earned Freshman All-American honors from the Football Writers Association of America.
Last year, he helped the Falcons rank nationally and lead the MAC in scoring offense (43.6), pass offense (335.6), total offense (501.6), turnover margin (1.36) and sacks against (1.00) per game. He and his fellow linemen also helped the team to a 4.7 yards per rush average, which ranked second in the MAC.
