This was the first meeting between the two teams with a return date in Bowling Green scheduled for next season.
The Broncos held the ball for 37:34 to 22:26 for BGSU and ran 90 plays to the Falcons' 57.
The Falcons recovered two fumbles, one in the second quarter by Diyral Briggs (his first career) and one in the fourth quarter by Jelani Jordan (his first career).
BGSU had a season-high seven tackles for a loss.
Junior linebacker Terrel White had a career-high 12 tackles. He also added two pass deflections. Senior safety Terrill Mayberry also had a career-high 12 stops.
Freshman defensive tackle Nick Davis had a career-high eight tackles.
Sophomore defensive end Brandon Mack had his second sack of the season.
Freshman cornerback Kenny Lewis saw his first action of the season.
Senior Nate Fry attempted his first PAT of the season and missed. He had made all three of his previous PAT attempts in 2002.
With his 97 yards receiving, senior Charles Sharon became the school's all-time leader in receiving yards at 2,756. That breaks the old mark of 2,726 yards set by his former teammate Robert Redd (1998-2002). Sharon and Redd both have worn the #1. Sharon wore #35 as a freshman during Redd's senior season.
Senior Steve Sanders caught two TD passes, an eight-yard and 25-yard effort, and is tied for the national lead with six TD receptions. He shares the top spot with Jason Hill of Washington State.
Junior quarterback Omar Jacobs completed 18 of 36 passes for 220 yards and three TDs. His 13 TD tosses leads the nation and his 371.7 yards of total offense per game average remains second in the country. It was the first time in nine games that Jacobs did not throw for more than 300 yards.
Junior tight end Ruben Ruiz caught his first TD pass as a Falcon on a three-yard route.
Freshman quarterback Anthony Turner saw his first action of the season and ran for 19 yards on three carries.
