Bowling Green, Ohio - Head Coach Gregg Brandon
On Senior Leadership
"It was tremendous, our guys were relentless with the pass rush."
"Terrell White seemed to be in the right position most of the day, as well as most of our defenders."
On Eric Deslauriers performance
"We didn't really key in on him that much, as we tried to play good defense and keep the ball in front of us."
On Anthony Turner's play
"Anthony was hot and cold, but he made some good throws. Freddie Barnes had a nice catch to keep the drive alive down the stretch towards the end of the game."
" Anthony ran the ball effectively and managed the offense, but he wasn't as sharp as he needed to be with throwing the ball. I think he is still a little rusty from his shoulder."
" I am proud of how he played today because he took some hard shots and I think he has a broken nose right now, well its really crooked."
" He is a tough kid, and I think when the other guys see him battle and run the ball, everybody responds to that and steps it up."
On Punting
"It was outstanding, Rojas did a great job. It's nice to be able to tell him to punt it and not have to worry about Teddy Ginn returning it."
Was your team where it was suppose to be today?
"Yes, I think so. It was homecoming game and we had a great home crowd, it was huge for this young team. It was a great victory for our young team to get a win at home."
On Chris Bullock
"Chris ran hard and took some shots today, and he has proven himself to be a guy we can run 15 or 20 times a game."
Anthony Turner
Talking about the game-winning drive
"The drive was key, we were all on the same page and that is what we talked about through out the week. Today it just happened and we just have to be more consistent with it."
"Corey (Partridge) is a great receiver. He can definitely make a quarterback look good, and that's what he did today."
"It definitely shows our team's character fighting through adversity like that."
Devon Parks
"Our defense was pumped up and we knew we were missing one of our starting captains on our d-line so we had to step up and I think that's what you saw today."
"Mentally he (Terrel White) was on top of it because he knew where the quarterback was going before he got there. So mentally I think he was top of his game today."
Chris Bullock
Talking about the offense
"I think we performed well today, we can run the ball and we knew that. Our passing game is stepping up and we are getting better every week."
Terrel White
"I just try to read my keys and read the quarterback when I got the interception, just keep running and don't stop."
"Defense is based on enthusiasm and excitement, when someone makes a play everyone else just feeds off of that."
Eastern Michigan Coach Jeff Genyk
Opening Statement
"Well first of all I think our players played very hard. We were very prepared as a staff. I think we really had an opportunity as a team in the third quarter when we were ahead 21-17 to distance ourselves a little bit from Bowling Green and get up 11 points which I believe would have really been a big factor for us because of the weather and our pass defense. So obviously the drop by Eric Deslauriers was a huge factor for us along with the missed field goal by Andrew Wellock he had slightly a pull there so obviously to come up with no points there lost us the momentum. The last three drives we went three and out twice and then we couldn't convert the two-minute drill. I thought out defense played really well which allowed us to keep getting the ball back. But its like the case with the Central Michigan and Northwestern game where we are just one play away from breaking through and getting the win and I think that's where we are at."
On the mistakes from veterans not youngsters
"It's not as frustrating because it was Eric Deslauriers just dropped the ball and that's unfortunate but that happens. I think he started to stumble a little bit and when he started to stumble I think he lost trust in his hands and so he tried to use his hands wrists and his hip to catch the ball but I mean he caught two touchdown passes so he had a pretty good game."
On the team's reaction
"They are very disappointed. I mean we worked so hard from the bye week. We had very physical practices on Tuesday and Wednesday and we had very spirited practices. We looked at this as a point where we can really look forward to go into October and November."
On the missed field goal
"I think it would have made it a true one possession game where Bowling Green would come down and tie the game instead of them pulling ahead. I think we did play pretty well."
On Tyler Jones
"He was very inconsistent. He made some very good throws but he also had some poor throws. He just over threw a wide-open Eric Deslauriers for an interception. And then he came back and set up a score and then threw seven or eight yards short. You know both of our quarterbacks have been inconsistent and that's just not what you want."
On inconstancy
"I think that's very important with developing a championship program is to be more consistent. We had scored off two possessions and then we had what we called self inflicted wounds."
