BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Falcon Volleyball travels to Oxford, Ohio Wednesday night for a rematch against the Miami RedHawks. Bowling Green seized a 3-1 win at home over MU earlier this season. Junior Stephanie Swiger belted 13 kills and eight blocks in the contest.
BGSU must be aware of Emily Schoeder and her 395 kills for Miami. Carli Reihman has also posted 300+ kills for Head Coach Carolyn Condit this season.
Milestones Reached
Several Falcons reached seasonal and career milestones this past weekend. Some of the benchmarks reached include:
Kendra Halm - 500th career kill, 200th career block, 100th block this season, 250th kill this season
Stephanie Swiger - 700th career kill, 100th block this season
Chrissy Gothke - 1,000th assist this season
Corey Domek - 250th kill this season
Junior Maggie Karges is just one dig shy of her 800th as a Falcon while Junior Madeline Means needs nine digs against Miami to reach the 600-career dig plateau.
Lucky Numbers
Bowling Green won their 13th match in a row on Friday (Oct.) the 13th. Coincidentally, the Brown and Orange later won their 20th match overall on Oct. 20th before taking victory number 21st on Oct. 21st. Unfortunately, the Falcons also came up short against the 22nd ranked team in the country (Ohio) when looking for win number 22.
Recognized by the Nation
Falcon Volleyball recorded votes in the latest CSTV/AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll, released October 30th. With four points, the Falcons rank T-32nd in the country. It's Bowling Green's first appearance in the poll since 1991.
"It's great for the program and the conference to be mentioned in the poll," said Head Coach Denise Van De Walle. "It's great to have two teams in the poll. Maybe this will help turn some heads as to just how good the MAC really is."
