Falcons Travel to Athens For MAC Dual Meet

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Head coach Keri Buff and her Swimming and Diving Falcons (0-2-0, 0-2-0) will close a four meet road challenge on Saturday as they head to Athens, Ohio to take on the Bobcats of Ohio University (1-1-0, 1-1-0). Races are scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Ohio University Aquatic Center.
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS (11/4)
Ohio University is coached by Greg Werner who has a record of 140-92-2 in twelve seasons...the Bobcats finished last season at 8-3-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the conference...the Bobcats lost just three letterwinners and return 19...additionally each of their five All-MAC selections return in the 2006-07 season.
OHIO UNIVERSITY AND THE MAC
OU (1-1-0, 1-1-0)...the Bobcats split the opening weekend with a loss at defending champion Eastern Michigan...Ashley Marion won the 200 IM (2:08.90) and Emily Wylam won the 200 back (2:06.43)...OU picked up a close win over Toledo by two points, 151-149...Michaela Hahn-Lawson won three of the seven Bobcat events including the 100 and 200 breast and the 200 IM...last season, the BGSU squad placed first to beat OU in seven events...the divers had their strongest outing with Jill Auer taking first on the 3-meter board and Ashley Belrose winning the 1-meter board.
FALCON NOTES
The duo of standouts sophomore Alisha Yee and senior Caroline Keating currently lead the Falcons with a combined seven MAC first place finishes...Yee was also named one of the MAC's Top Swimmers with her 2:09.43 finish in the 200 IM...Bowling Green rallied at the conclusion of the EMU meet winning the final four events...diver Jill Auer dove to a first place 3-meter finish at the EMU meet...Ashley Belrose has recorded two straight third place finishes off the 1-meter board... rookie Chelsea Lopus earned her first individual victory as a Falcon in the 100 fly against EMU.
