Parks, Lichtensteiger Named First-Team All-MAC

Cleveland, Ohio - Bowling Green State University senior defensive end Devon Parks and junior center Kory Lichtensteiger were named first-team All-MAC in voting conducted by the league's coaches. Senior linebacker Terrel White earned second-team accolades.
"Those three players are as deserving as anyone and we are glad that other coaches around the league recognized their abilities," said BGSU Coach Gregg Brandon. "Those three play as hard as anyone we have ever had during my time here and they are an example of what we expect from our players on the field."
Parks is a first-time honoree and the first Falcon defensive lineman to be on the first team since Brandon Hicks in 2001. He had 55 tackles and was tied for seventh in the MAC with 13.5 tackles for loss. He also had nine sacks which was third in the league and 24th in the nation. For his career, he finished with 185 tackles, 36 for a loss and 21 sacks. He set a school record for a defender by starting in 47 of his 48 career games.

Lichtensteiger is on the first team after earning second team recognition as a freshman and as a sophomore. He is the first BGSU offensive lineman to gain All-MAC accolades three times in in his career since center Heath Wingate who was honored three times from 1964-66. Lichtensteiger anchored an offensive line which finished second in the league in rushing (176.7) and third in fewest sacks allowed (20).
White is a first-time honoree. He led the Falcons and was third in the MAC in tackles (101/10.1 per game). He also had 12.5 tackles for liss, four sacks, two interceptions, three pass deflections and a forced fumble. For his career, he finished with 245 stops, 26 TFL and seven sacks.

Note - The All-MAC team was voted on by the league's 12 head coaches. The specialty awards were voted on by the MAC News Media Association. The first-team and second team offense are comprised of 28 selections, the first-team and second team defense 26 selections, and honorable mention six selections for a total of 60 all-MAC student-athletes. The Vern Smith Leadership Award was voted by a panel comprised of league head coaches and a select group of media representatives.
