CANCUN, Mexico/DETROIT, Mich./BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team has returned to the United States after the trip to Cancun. The members of the Falcon travel party came back to the States with some souvenirs, some killer tans and some great memories.

The Falcons also returned having achieved one of their main goals. While Curt Miller and Company would have loved to return to the States with a pair of wins, they wanted to return home a better team than when they left, and Miller believes they have done just that.
A quick side note about the Falcon student-athletes: while the team was in Cancun, the fall semester grades were announced, and the players were able to check their grades online. No fewer than five student-athletes posted perfect 4.00 grade-point averages for the fall semester.
Back to the trip. The BG players and coaches had a free day Thursday, and were able to enjoy the amenities of the Moon Palace Resort after two tough games on back-to-back days. The team members spent much of Thursday by the pool or on the beach, before gathering as a group for dinner.
The team spent most of Friday returning to Northwest Ohio. The Falcons' flight landed in Detroit at approximately 5:00 p.m. Eastern, and after passing through Immigration and Customs, the team boarded a bus bound for Bowling Green, and crossed into Ohio just before 7:00 p.m.
During that bus trip, junior Whitney Taylor took a few moments to share her experiences from the trip, and is the author of the Cancun trip's final blog:

"Viva La Mexico! This trip was an awesome experience. It was really great to be able to hang out with the girls, and to be able to play basketball in such an awesome environment, with all of our fans there. We had way more fans there than anyone else did.
"Our goal for the trip was to leave Cancun a better team than when we arrived, and I think we did that. Playing Duke was such a great experience. We wanted to win, of course, but we were able to play a high-ranked team to the best of our ability, so we showed ourselves and I think we showed others that we are a pretty good team.
"Then, the next day, we were able to bounce back and beat a good Texas-Arlington team, which showed a lot as well, playing two games in two days, overcoming a loss and coming back to get a win over a very tough defensive team.
"Away from the court, I think the best times were when we were all just sitting around by the pool, with our coaches and families there. I don't know how many times we laughed until we couldn't breathe; we just had so much fun. We all played volleyball on the beach, and just to be able to see the water and be in that environment, we all agreed that this is one of the best trips we will ever take in our lifetimes.
"On the last night (Thursday), we all went to dinner as a team, and we took a walk on the beach. We all got kind of emotional; it was just such a good experience.
"Our fans there were just awesome. They were everywhere we went, and we all were able to talk and interact with one another. During the game, they were very supportive and provided a great environment. They all had matching orange shirts for the games, and kind of surrounded the court. It really brought a big presence to each game, and gave us an edge that the other teams didn't really have. They were unbelievable.
"Of course we are all somewhat disappointed that we had to leave Cancun, but we are also looking forward to going home for a few days for the holidays. And, of course, we are looking forward to a couple days off, and then returning to BG to get ready for a huge game against Delaware. We hope to see you there!"
