BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The women's track program finished the 2006 MAC Indoor Track and Field Championships in tenth place with 30.75 points. Akron won the women's side with 118.50 points. Eastern Michigan won the men's team title with an overwhelming 171 points.
The Falcons, of head coach Scott Sehmann, made strides in turning the program around. All of the women that scored for the team in the past two teams were either a sophomore or a junior. Two of the three juniors have scored at the past three indoor championships.

"The team made big strides in improving their point totals from last year, doubling their point totals," said head coach Scott Sehmann. "The ladies were led by a few junior and sophomores who we will be looked upon to continue to lead this team to a better standing during the outdoor season."
Junior Nicole Standback showed her true form in the 60-meter hurdles on Saturday, as she won the bronze medal for her third place season best time of 8.58 seconds, her best time in nearly two years in the event. This is the third year in a row for the junior hurdler. She was third at the 2004 MAC Indoor Championships and seventh at the 2005 meet.
Jamie Roflow followed up her third place in 5,000-meter last night with a fourth place in the 3,000-meter, crossing the line at 9:50.18.
After her fourth place finish in the women's weight throw yesterday, sophomore throwing standout Whitney Hartman saw the awards stand for the second time in two days. She followed yesterday's performance with an unexpected eighth place finish in the women's shot put. Hartman threw a new personal-best of 13.96-meters (45-09.75).
Jessica White saw the awards stand twice today. She dazzled the home crowd with a fifth place finish in the 60-meter dash, sprinting to the finish line at 7.63 seconds. In the 200-meter dash, White finished sixth with a new personal-best time of 24.83 seconds.
